Marketing Engineer

Whereoware is hiring a Marketing Engineer to work with our exciting clients and in conjunction with our in-house marketing teams. The Marketing Engineer works with the Director of Client Marketing and oversees the strategy, production, and the integration of IBM technology/Salesforce Marketing Cloud applications. You will manage technology marketing teams from the definition phase through execution, as well as contribute to sales by consulting and scoping. From design to data, strategy to development, you will enjoy solving problems, removing obstacles and streamlining operations.


Day-in-the-life

Whereoware is an agile digital agency with clients across industries and verticals. Day-to-day projects for the Marketing Engineer will vary, but may look like:

  • Align organizational and departmental goals with technology to maximize effectiveness of our product and service offerings
  • Assist Sales, Account Executives, Director of Client Marketing, and Partners with RFP responses, new contracts, and other sales opportunities
  • Responsible for the strategy, execution, and success of complex marketing automation projects in an IBM Watson Campaign Automation/Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment.
  • Research, manage, and coordinate current and future technology solutions for continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and keep the organization ahead of the evolving digital landscape
  • Oversee the marketing technology stack offered to our clients including solution evaluations, integrating new technologies into existing systems and processes, and providing ongoing training and support. Contribute to design and architecture of systems that span multiple teams and/or products.
  • Pursue the most innovative and cost-effective marketing solutions and lead all solution evaluations by defining business, functional, and technical requirements that ensure tools and systems effectively enable marketing operations
  • Responsible for the strategy, execution, and success of complex marketing automation projects in an IBM Watson Campaign Automation/Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment.
  • Estimate time frames, quality, and quantity of resources required to successfully implement projects.
  • Work with Lead Technical Marketer to manage skill development and define team’s expectations.
  • Set technical direction for marketing team, lead the release of core products, and work with team to maintain knowledge management system for IBM’s and Salesforce tools.
  • Strategic lead on new marketing technology for Whereoware success. Contribute to design and architecture of systems that span multiple teams and/or products.
  • Work closely with cross-functional internal teams to build out plans for high visibility projects and programs by identifying requirements, dependencies and schedules
  • Estimate work efforts, define milestones and consult with internal resources accordingly
  • Create communications and training plans for new roll-outs and manage future change processes
  • May have direct consulting opportunities with customers regarding platform and technology audits. 

 

The Marketing Engineer will have:

  • 5-7 years-experience in a digital marketing role, agency experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing automation, digital asset management and program management platforms.
  • Preferred knowledge of IBM Watson Campaign Automation (Silverpop), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, or Hybris.
  • Knowledgeable about digital advertising, including SEM, SEO, PPC and social advertising platforms.
  • Knowledgeable on email best practices, technologies and trends and proven ability to stay current with new technologies and architectures
  • Experience with EPiServer, Magento or other Ecommerce / CMS platforms and implementations.
  • Ability to effectively change focus in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Highly motivated, proactive and detail oriented
  • Fluent English and strong writing and communication skills
  • Have a B.S. or B.A.
